Mullenbawn has two large water pumps that operate at a pumping efficiency of 60%. There is a duty pump and a standby pump as the site runs 24/7.
Cost and Energy Savng Actions
1. Installation of a varible speed drive (completed in July 2007)
The powerfactor of the site was very low inccuring approx 800 euro of wattless charges per annum. Installation.
The pumps were running slghtly higher volume than required, which is now controllable.

2. participation in the Winter Demand Reduction Incentive scheme.
3. Higher Efficiency pump on replacement. Savings of 15% could be achieved.
